Less education can cause unemployment in Sukabumi

Education is a major issue that will help to prevent unemployment in Sukabumi. The lack of ability or skill of citizen in Sukabumi makes the opportunities filled by citizen from outside Sukabumi. As we can see, there are a lot of job opportunities in this area. Unfortunately these opportunities are not able to minimize the unemployment. In fact, approximately 27 thousand citizens in Sukabumi are unemployed, because to have a job they didn’t have enough skill and ability that needed in industry sector. Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi (Disnakertrans) Sukabumi record the number of jobs is higher than the numbers of unemployment, especially garment industry. On the average Sukabumi citizen has only education level until graduating junior and senior high school. They don’t have enough money to continue to the University, but they need skills training that accordance with job requirements, such as sewing for the garment industry and mechanic for the machine industry. In the future, to minimize the unemployment rate the local government should cooperation with existing companies in Sukabumi to conduct skills training in order to increase the skills of prospective workers so that job seekers will have the skills that required by the company, and also inspire morale entrepreneurship.
