The two main reasons of poverty in Jakarta are lack of people’s education and their skills. There are many people in Jakarta who left their schools after graduating from Junior High School, some even after Elementary School. Because their parents do not have enough money to pay children’s school fees, their children cannot continue their higher education. As a result, they do not usually get a job, even some of them become beggars. The second reason of poverty in Jakarta was lack of people’s skills. Some people cannot get a job even though they have graduated from a university. This is mostly because they are not qualified enough to get the job. This also means that only having a university diploma is not enough in this competitive world. People need to be skillful in their fields.
